Dr. Charlotte "Charlie" Stone has dedicated her career as a psychiatrist to exploring the darkest territory of all: the hearts and minds of serial killers. Its a job she's uniquely suited for, thanks to her uncanny ability to communicate with the spirits of the dead who cry out for justice. But saving a woman who's still very much alive -- and fleeing a homicidal maniac -- places Charlie in the cross hairs of "the Gingerbread Man," a sadistic predator who manipulates victims like chess pieces. Matching wits with this cunningly twisted opponent will require all of Charlie's training and expert skills. But even with her charismatic ghostly lover, Michael Garland, and her favorite flesh-and-blood Fed, Tony Bartoli, watching her beautiful back, the Gingerbread Man's horrifying grin might be the last thing Charlie ever sees.

I love 'ghost' stories but this is awful. Too wordy and for a 'Doctor' she is soooo dumb. I am a voracious reader but I could not get into this.
