The day convicted child molester Freddy Roche walks into Hannah Barlow's law office is the day unwelcome memories of the past come flooding back to her. Sex offenders like Roche, and cops like Hannah once was -- too ambitious to buck a system that failed to protect a little girl like Janie Meister from an abusive father -- are why Hannah gave up her badge.

Roche has served his time, but a law meant to protect the community's children has made him the target of harassment. Now he's asking Hannah to help him fight for his right to start over.
