Guatelmala. Graham Mosby, the purveyor of stolen Maya artifacts makes the big score, an altar stone of inestimable value. The stone depicts the Hero Twins, whose efforts brought The Maize God to Earth. The Maize God brought the gift of corn and the first Maya were molded from ground corn and given life. This is the Maya creation myth. With the stone as a centerpiece, Mosby launches a Maya religious revival playing the role of The Maize God. Nick Michaels, a private investigator, visits some archeological friends at Yaxhá in Guatemala. Mosby performs nearby. The ceremony includes anointing the altar stone with blood. At this ceremony the bloodletting leads to death and subsequently one of Nick s colleagues in murdered as Mosby seeks more blood. Nick is now on the case, the long trail leads to the abandoned Maya city, El Mirador, where the stone is anointed for the last time. Mosby is captured and turned over to the police. Blood On The Stone is an exciting action/adventure novel set in the world of the ancient Maya civilization.
