One of my friends from Goodreads suggested that I read this book. I never would have done so without the suggestion. This genre of book is not my usual cup of tea, and let's face it, there are so many vampire chronicles out there right now. But this one is a bit different. Yes, there is the erotica and the romance that we see in this genre, but the book did not come out soppy in spite of this. There is enough action and character interaction to counteract the story from becoming too fanciful. This is an engaging bunch of vampires and breedmates. The book is goes into detail about an ancient and hard fought war through the centuries, but the modern war is conducted with new and modern tools and weapons. It makes for an enjoyable read, and I am thinking I will probably continue with the series for awhile anyway.
