Clinton Smith has spent much of his time writing advertising material, documentaries and fiction. His commercials have won thirty Australian and international awards, his short stories and screenplays ten more. His shoots have taken him to many countries, and people as diverse as Edward de Bono and Ronnie Barker have fronted his campaigns. For twenty years, he wrote the classic King Gee workwear campaign that featured the slogan 'If they were any tougher, they'd rust'. He became a partner in his own agency then retired to write thrillers. His books are extensively researched using his military contacts, and the first two have been optioned for film.
