Gage Cooper has been seen having problems throughout the series. He was footloose and fancy-free and had trouble understand his brother's blindness. But now he's back in town and he's doing his best to help feisty Layla Silver who is trying to keep the farm, working two jobs, and dealing with a very rebellious fifteen year old brother. All this doesn't even start to describe all the awesome scenes in this book!
There are so many characters in this series now. Brenda Minton wrote a ten or so book Cowboy series that included all these characters. Yet, we don't really have trouble keeping up with all the characters, and it doesn't take away from the focus of the hero and heroine's story!
Gage's strong handed control of Brandon was very, very good. He saw what the boy needed and gave it to him. Layla did get on my nerves a bit with her big amount of pride and always pushing the cowboy away, but by the end of the story I think she accepted him for who he was.
Very good story! Loving the Coopers - especially the parents and grandmother!
