Charcoal wafts of smoke began to bellow up from the streets below. Sirens split the once city streets wide as the carnage ensued. Everywhere they looked was tainted, corrupted by some form of desecration. People killing each other, trampled over like the runt of some wild pack. Bones crunching, flesh ripping like old leathers and chilling screams of despair. Zombie apocalypse was there. Carnivorous beasts rip away flesh and pick the bones clean. No, it's sicker than that: their hunger isn't what it seems. Yes, they crave meat but they're spreading the infection with every bite; at this point hunger is sated and they are forming herds. Chaos in the streets, the exit on to the over pass jammed, the fate is much more dire for the hopeless souls on the highway. Chloe climbed onto her car and surveyed the area, no sign of Missy, but she thought she might be glimpsing the tail end of another bus. She climbed down to get a better look at the second bus, then climbed onto another car and peered over to see the end of the school bus half hung off the ramp. She heard kids screaming for help as one of them saw her. She vanished from sight, noticed the bus beginning to rock, the slightest movement would make it go over and they'd all die. She walked back to the cars to look for survivors who escaped. Out of the six vehicles only she and the four boys had walked away...Missy was still AWOL. The first school bus was jammed shut, and the high school team was stuck inside, injured but alive. Lucky for Chloe the man in the truck had a first aid kit and a small hand gun with plenty of bullets.
