This is the story of a rescue pup told from his point of view! Yoda is a Xoloitzcuintle, a primitive breed that dates back to the Aztec Indians. It is more commonly known as Mexican Hairless and/or Xolo (pronounced cho-low). He was rescued from the San Antonio Chihuahua Rescue in August 2003 weighing in at only 5lbs 4 ounces. Yoda was born approximately February 6, 2003. His original name was Bubba, but he looked so much like the Star Wars character that his name was changed immediately! When I first met Yoda, he had come up from Texas on an airplane all the way to Salt Lake City, Utah to meet me, his grandmother. It was love at first sight, as I knew that this was a special dog. He seemed to be so comfortable wherever he was, and whoever held him. He was in my home for a few days and I never heard him bark. But his eyes always told you that he was happy with his life. I later learned that he only barked when he was hungry. Do you believe that any dog could do this? He did later learn to bark from his brother gizmo.I felt that he was so special in so many ways that I felt that more people should have a chance to know him. This book was written as though he is telling his own story because I felt that he would like to have written it by himself, but he could not learn how to use the computer.
