Karla moves from her rural childhood home to the bustling city unwillingly when her parents lose their home to foreclosure. She makes new friends almost immediately. After they invite her to a party so she can go out on a date with the football captain she convinces her parents to let her sleep over her newly made friend's house, Carol.
