Kirsty McLean is dismayed when she learns that builders Kraken's have made a substantial offer for her family's farm, Coot House. Her brother, Jim, is in favour of accepting, but Kirsty is determined that they should keep the farm somehow. In the pub that evening, Kirsty meets good-looking Dane Meredith and is pleased when he asks her out. But when her neighbour tells her that Dane is the Chief Surveyor for Kraken's, Kirsty decides to keep the date and have the matter of Coot House out with him - whatever the outcome...
