Scientists at a government lab in West Virginia attempt to create a small black hole. The experiment goes awry and they open a door to another universe instead. Strange and deadly creatures escape. Frank Ballard worries about his wife Elizabeth who suddenly exhibits unusual actions. She is killed by a drunken driver before his eyes and he sees her ghost leave her body.
