Werewolves (55,283 words) is the story of the history of werewolves revealed in the lives of a college professor who writes erotic horror novels where her characters are more real than one would believe, desire or hope. When one of her students becomes involved personally with two of her werewolf characters in one of her dreams, the fact of the existence of real werewolves becomes evident. The more real these beasts become the closer to Halloween they get. During the passing of the holiday the spirits of other werewolves under their curse find that the authoress has the means to turn them into normal wolves. In a mass baptism of mercury their salvation begins. When one of her students, who has become attached to a werewolf who has become her personal guardian, makes the transition into pure wolf form, she goes on a search to find the animal now loose in a nearby park. Meanwhile, the professor has werewolf problems of her own as they seem to gather around her for either hope of salvation into wolf form or outright death by silver bullets. The conflict comes when she falls in love with one poor cursed female mutilated by Catholic priests in the Middle Ages and left to wander the earth in torment. This one wishes to be killed rather than transformed. Out of love the professor grants this spirit creature her wish. What happens upon the death of this poor cursed soul was not what anyone could have expected!
