SAM IS GETTING MARRIED! The U.S. has recovered from the shock of Sam Houston St. Clair's out-of-the-blue marriage proposal to Eve Harrington, as well as the scandal that erupted when the world discovered she had stabbed her father to death when she was 16. There's a juggernaut of interest in the wedding itself, the first time a President is to be married in the White House since the 1800s. Eve is especially wary of her mother, Maggie, nursing her bruised ego back home in Savannah after Eve banished her from the White House after a fight. When Vice President Dex White connects with Maggie during a speaking engagement in Savannah, they strike up a relationship, to Eve's horror, that might develop into something. Sam, meantime, has been wooing Dex White to become a working part of the new Administration. When his chief of staff dies of cancer, Sam enlists ex-President Norwalk's chief of staff to join the team. Another ex-President, Russell Tiller, gets a $50 million gift from a Saudi prince to fund his Foundation, in exchange for wife Meredith's vote to approve the Saudi purchase of the Big Rock Mine in Nevada, in which Sam is a part-owner. No one knows the Russians are working behind the scenes with the Saudis. Cuban operative Fernando Pozo has succeeded in getting $15 million into offshore accounts for his “retirement fund.” He is on track to get to $100 million, when he will disappear to a place where no one in Havana will ever find him. But he doesn't know that his regular hooker is also sleeping with one of his top people, the lawyer Julio Aponte. Convinced his boyfriend Rolando is cheating on him, Jonathan Vaughan hires Jack's agency to follow him. Jack enlists his trusted part-timer, the gay D.C. hair stylist Teddy Puckett, to handle this delicate task. When Sam's old friend and Big Rock managing partner comes to Washington a few days before the wedding, there's more fallout than anyone expected when a major secret is revealed.
