The book is set against the backdrop of a cataclysmic United States following the complete fall of the economy. In a country now ruled by the military, an unwitting hero rises from the masses. He finds himself caught in the slipstream of current events and fights to keep his values in a world that has lost all parameters. Beginning with the birth of a new revolution in the city of Philadelphia, the book shows how normal people react to a fantastic turn of events.

An escaped prisoner finds himself in a world he no longer recognizes. While fighting with his own demons, which tell him he is better than the person he has become, he finds a group of survivalists who welcome him into their mist. The life that he might have once saved begins to degrade into it's base element. Realizing that there is no more structured system, the evil that stirs inside of him pushes the group to the brink of destruction.

This book draws heavily from the writings of Alvin Toffler. The predictions that Toffler made, especially in the books The Third Wave and Future Shock, now look more real than ever in the past. We the People examines the delicate American class structure and the possibilities that might occur if the majority of people decided to mass and take over the country. This action is driven by an economic downturn that is exponentially worse than the Great Depression.

While larger issues are in play, the lives of the two main characters are featured as the world around them drastically changes. The road to a final solution bring the two together. Readers are challenged to examine themselves and determine whether they would be able to survive in the violent and desolate world of this possible future. The book also challenges readers to draw parallels to real current events, such as the Union rioting in Greece, and ask themselves if it could happen in the United States.

Overall, the book is a fun fantasy that examines the ideology of human beings to determine if there might be something worth saving. It also asks the question, what is real value? Is it the American Dollar that has become some people's God, or something else?
