When Lindsay Oliver took up her next three-month locum in the Thames Valley area, the last thing she expected, as a virtually new qualified vet, was to be offered a partnership pending the retirement of the senior partner. Not at all sure she was ready for this, and constantly wrong-footed by the other partner, Piers Albury, Lindsay decided to take her time making up her mind.
