Valley of Home — Joyce Eaglestone

Rebecca found herself with notice to leave her bedsit, and no job. She decided to go back to Grantley, where she had been born, to be companion to an old lady. Living on the top floor of her employer's house were two young men, Joe and Cliff, both of whom were attracted to this rather prim girl. But it was Ted Blackwell, the old lady's young doctor, who helped Rebecca to find her way out of the maze of ignorance and prejudice caused by her narrow upbringing.
