Shifters exist. That's a fact - a fact humans aren't taking lightly.
With riots and protests a common sight across Europe, those who used to be the predator are now the prey. The humans want all shifters dead. The shifters, on the other hand, aren't going down without a fight, and now, war is on the horizon. Shifters from all parts of the globe are joining forces to create an invincible army against the humans.
Damon is stuck in the middle. He's still a shifter through and through, but his own brethren don't want anything to do with him and his clan. 'His clan really isn't a clan', they say since he has two Unwanteds.
This takes a toll on both Damon and Charlie. Damon starts to grow distant, and Charlie fears that Damon will just leave him one day. Then, the unthinkable happens. Charlie asks Damon to turn him into a shifter.
The thing is no human has ever survived the shift.
