This novel is pure science fiction. However, if one is to believe in hope for the future of mankind, then I highly recommend you take the time and effort to read this story. The story begins with an alien intervention into the weather causing first a drought then a snowstorm of unimaginable proportions engulfs the world. After that our story becomes a personal one with our central characters showing the great American resolve and fortitude that so depicts our culture. The plot bridges from a proposed terrorist attack on New York City; to an assassination attempt on the president; and then a long voyage by rail, filled with startling events, to the government's underground facility in Colorado. It is there where contact is established with the aliens who are demanding the human race behave and live in harmony with both nature and man regardless of culture. What surfaces is man's human spirit and many other attributes of what was intended.
