The hero of Tomahawk Brown is a spook (as in CIA spy person/intelligence officer) who has an abrupt reality check when he is confronted by the fruit of a one-night stand of twenty years ago. Just as Tony Soprano seeks help from the stresses of his two families, so too, must our hero deal with explaining his wild oats to his domestic lily-white family; placating the son's mother (who also moves in), and keeping his “edge” among those on the Seventh Floor at Langley. An unstable intelligence operative is less than joy forever, as the two “families” soon discover when our hero bounces from one rubber room to another and one couch to another. He begins compiling plans and stockpiling weapons against the day when certain races and genders will have to be dealt with terminally. Not all CIA agents are super heroes, Tom Clancy notwithstanding, as our man proves, not just with feet of clay, but with all of the tragic warm and fuzzy foibles that endear and make memorable our fictional favorites. You'll find yourself somewhere in the people of Tomahawk Brown.
