To Win a Paradise
Ann was wildly excited at arriving in North Africa with her father on an archaeological expedition. Her excitement, however, was tinged with regret when she fell instantly in love with Paul Tarrant, an Englishman who had been brought up among the Arabs, and had, all too soon, to leave him when the expedition set off into the Sahara.

Then disaster struck, for Ann's father was killed in a skirmish between desert tribesmen, and it seemed tragically certain that Paul's had been the hand that fired the fatal shot. But the unhappy tangle was eventually to be cleared up, leaving the way open to a happy future for them both.
