Fearing murder charges, Candace Lee McBride, flees the state of New York. She changed her name to Kandee Lee, her appearance from golden blond beauty to a dark headed waif, a lifestyle of riches to a pauper. Pursued by a private detective, mugged in a greyhound bus depot, held hostage by a bank robber and shot for identifying the robber, has Candace, finally, in the arms of handsome, blue eyed, Max Ritter, an FBI agent.
Max has been involved with apprehending the Dupont Syndicate, and a sting operation is scheduled. The same Dupont that is responsible for Candace's mother's death, and who's very own son, robbed the bank and held Candace hostage.
