Gunnar McDermott had a dream. Growing up in a remote valley in Idaho, he understands the need for people well trained in search-and-rescue missions and life flight work. He had hoped to be the pilot flying the helicopter in those situations. But a fierce fight in Afghanistan shattered his hip, leg, and dreams. He's now a disabled vet and has a small auto mechanic shop where he hires other vets suffering from physical and emotional difficulties.

Gunnar and Mallory knew each other as little children, when he could play Little League, and she was happy living with her parents. Now, they meet again, as two completely different people. But the cabin's ghosts wonder if they're really as different as they think they are.
