This Can't be Love
Mallory Conway is the youngest of the three half-sisters who inherit a cabin in a remote section of Idaho that belonged to their family for generations-a cabin which happens to be haunted.

Mallory's troubled childhood taught her that the best reason to marry is for money and security. Forget love. She isn't even sure what that is. But she has a problem. Despite finding men she "should" want to marry, even to the point of engagements, nothing has turned out right for her. Her friends mockingly call her a "runaway bride." Facing yet another troubled relationship, she abruptly escapes her life in New York City and heads to the Idaho cabin. She wants to be alone, to try to figure out what to do with her life. And to continue writing her "advice to the lovelorn" column, Misery Loves Company.

Gunnar McDermott had a dream. Growing up in a remote valley in Idaho, he understands the need for people well trained in search-and-rescue missions and life flight work. He had hoped to be the pilot flying the helicopter in those situations. But a fierce fight in Afghanistan shattered his hip, leg, and dreams. He's now a disabled vet and has a small auto mechanic shop where he hires other vets suffering from physical and emotional difficulties.

Gunnar and Mallory knew each other as little children, when he could play Little League, and she was happy living with her parents. Now, they meet again, as two completely different people. But the cabin's ghosts wonder if they're really as different as they think they are.
