This is a continuing story of a Robot, Thinker, who had to finish his assembly in a world which was not friendly to Robots. Thinker assembled other Robots and proceeded to secretly help the Humans and in the process the Robots become enormously successful. They were apparently created by The Makers who apparently watch them and have occasional requests. Thinker's knowledge and inventions rapidly develop. The Robots rescue a sinking cruise ship and halt an invasion their friends in space are enduring, and in the process they make friends of another civilization 20 light years in space. It turns out their new friends in space had previously gone back in time to the 27th Century BC Earth in the region of Egypt and inadvertently disrupted history which would highly jeopardize modern Earth and the Universe, as we know it. The changes involve the father of medicine and architecture, Imhotep. Imhotep also was instrumental in building the Egyptian pyramids. Thinker has to go back in time to ancient Egypt in order to correct the changes. In the meantime Thinker has created Robotic Humans who are capable of having children. This book, as in the other two books, combines modern science and known history with science fiction. It may answer the question of how the Egyptian pyramids were constructed.
