The Wrong Shoes
This is the third in the Meredith and Hodge series, and having lost her, DCI John Meredith wants Patsy Hodge back. It takes the murder of a police officer to get them talking again, but Meredith becomes distracted when one of his own team is kidnapped by a self-confessed murderer. It seems the only way he can secure their release is by revisiting a suicide case from a few years before and proving it was murder. But was it? Tanya Jennings, once a colleague of both Meredith and Hodge, but now in prison, presents Hodge with a new case. Patsy finds herself pulled into the violent world of right-wing thugs as she searches for an estranged husband. She is drawn to a handsome and talented singer, Ben Jacobs, who reminds her rather too much of Meredith. Meredith's and Hodge's cases collide when Meredith receives a severe beating by the men Hodge has been questioning. It seems one person holds the key to both mysteries, and he may be dead. Excerpts from reviews on Amazon “The writing is terrific, and the characters are compelling. I am not one to be easily impressed, but feel these books are addictive” *** “I love this series and personally I think this is the best yet. The story has something for everyone - murder, little old ladies, a kidnapping, baddies, spooks. The story line is tight and makes you want to read on.” *** Another fantastic adventure for Hodge and Meredith, gripping, had tears and heart stopping moments. As expected Marcia did not fail to deliver yet another blockbuster of a murder mystery. *** “Another fantastic adventure for Hodge and Meredith, gripping, had tears and heart stopping moments. As expected Marcia did not fail to deliver yet another blockbuster of a murder mystery.” *** “Marcia Turner is an author I trust implicitly to deliver a good story. From the beginning of The Wrong Shoes I was absorbed in the plot, and was carried along on an emotional rollercoaster, as Meredith and Hodge discover that life is never that simple, and as one story closes another unfolds.” *** “Sometimes when you read sequels, they become stale and samey. WELL NOT THIS ONE….The characters are still developing even the minor ones, and the new ones that were introduced fitted seamlessly into the world of Meredith and Hodge”
