Vince Carwin had returned to his old stamping grounds in New Mexico to look for wild horses--so they said. There was a fortune to be made from those mavericks--so the story went. But there were others who advanced a different reason for Carwin's return. Dobie, Nerich for one. Nerich remembered the tricky deal he handed Carwin ten years ago. And the sweat came out on his brow when he heard Carwin was looking for him.
