The Uses of The Past Book II is the continuation of faith, hope, and love that is present in the lives of the Thompson English Family. There are many twists and turns in their lives, and both Richard and Elizabeth want the best for their family as a married couple; however, their ideas are opposite of one another. The strife continues in Book II which is set in the 1800's.
