The Three Door Dodge opens high up in a lookout tree where boys often were perched to look out at the neighborhood, looking for pleasing adventure. The time was 1944 with America embroiled in World War Two. Although fiction, some characters in the story are based upon real people and what those characters actually did. One of the AKA characters is T. F. Platt. Despite one of the characters being T. F. Platt, the story should be regarded as fiction set into real history. As in all of the Jericho books, the narrative was written in honor of the author's grandfather, Clarence Groner, and the author's mother, Edith Marie Groner Platt. The geography used in the books is similar to that of the community in Michigan where Clarence Groner and Edith Marie Groner Platt and T. F. Platt, and others of the Groner and Platt families, resided through much of their lives. Clarence and Edith for a time lived on a road called Jericho Road and Clarence worked briefly in a paper mill nearby. The Three Door Dodge is the seventh of the Jericho Books by T. F. Platt. The Jericho stories are intended for adults and young adults. Author and family reside in southern Michigan, some one hundred fifty miles from the site of his Jericho stories. They have four grown wonderful children and four marvelous grand children all of whom serve as inspiration for the writer. The tales do not include explicit sex and they omit profanity. His column like his books feature adventure, romance, humor, suspense, tragedy, and triumph, all with religion and the Golden Rule built in.
