The Three C's is a work of fiction inspired by my father's experiences during his three tours of duty in the Civilian Conservation Corps across the United States. President Roosevelt's programs helped America struggle back from the Depression and ensured that the events that caused the downfall would never happen again. This is the story of Camp Courage, a fictional CCC camp in northern Michigan, and the men who lived and worked there. The men were starving waifs when they arrived. They learned to follow orders, to work together for a common purpose and to take care of each other. This experience remained with them for the rest of their lives, and helped to prepare them to fight for our country in WWII. Their work improved the environment and made this world a better place for all of us.
