Footlights and Broken Hearts!

Sherry Howard had come to the small California town to direct a summer stock production of Stan West's new play. But Stan had been informed merely that his new director was to be S. Howard, and he had taken it for granted that it was to be a man. Therefore, he was not too happy about a woman director, and neither was his fiancee, the play's leading lady, who saw in Sherry a rival for Stan's affections and attention.

Undercurrents of jealousy and disapproval soon made Sherry's job even more difficult. Then, finding two men falling in love with her, Sherry was forced by the town and by her heart to choose. Would it be Paul Joseph, the wealthy farmer who would protect her and give her a secure haven with his love? Or would it be Stan West, the unstable, insecure writer who needed Sherry to shield him from the world's hurts?

A destructive flood brings Sherry to a decision.
