Teacher John Musso is a man who has lost everything. His relationship has fallen over. His partner left him for another man and taking most of his assets. He finds himself taking a job in the remote Kimberly outback teaching indigenous children. John is soon smitten with May a young indigenous local whose partner is in prison. John is concerned when her partner is released. Unable to gain May back he commits suicide. John finds himself inadvertently in a crazy express ride as he flees the desert community with May. In Melbourne normality seems to return until he is shaken with a turn of events. He finds himself waking up in a nightmare of which there seems is no easy escape.
