The Dawson Ranch is starting to feel the pains of rustlers after the War Between the States. Miss Annie Dawson takes the stage coach from Rock Springs to Austin hoping to get some law enforced help. The Governor, placed in his office over the State of Texas by the Federal Government, turned her down . The Texas Rangers had been dissolved and the State Police Force appointed by the Governor could not help her. Having no luck she turned to two friends of her dead husband. These men know how to slow the loss of her cattle and stop it all together. When the leaders of the gangs of rustlers are put away for good, the cattle stealing in these areas will stop. These two friends find her two young men who have lived the hard life of chasing Indians and outlaws of every stripe. They hire on as stray riders for the Dawson Ranch. With the aid of Miss Annie's young ranch boss, the three of them find one more man they use as a spy. This man is to try to gather information and try his best to find out who the ring leaders are. Gunfights, storms, cattle drives, and with serious wounds to some, then on top of that two young ladies make the job seem to have no end. Will the homemade Texas law clean up these problems and make life on the ranges of Texas safe?
