A Classic American Western

Taken directly from their own writings, The Stinson Journals covers about a nine month period in the lives of Granger Stinson and Laura Cullop. He left Idaho City in the spring of 1879 to go settle a score with Donovan Jacobs, a man who had worried and harassed them through most of their journey to Idaho the previous year. Laura stayed in Idaho City, minding the store and assuming he was going to visit a friend in Colorado. The journal entries-insights, observations, poems, telegrams, and even entries from other people along the way-are in their own words and language. Broken bones and broken hearts, mountain highs and valley lows, joyful greetings and sorrowful passings are all part of their own recollections of the small part and time they played in the settling of the west.
