The Star of the New Yshan Empire — Michael Davies

Over a hundred years has passed since the Yshan Empire was invaded by an alien race and the Imperial Fleet driven into exile in a distant galaxy. Now the old Empire is ruled by the aliens and their puppet, the one-time Princess Sophie and her descendants. The startling reappearance of "The First," the original rulers of the Yshan planet who passed the torch to the Yshan people over 5,000 years ago now gives hope that the Empire can be retaken.
