The St. Lawrence Run
Curiosity and a cryptic letter from the dead man bring crime writer T.S.W. Sheridan to a small town in northern New Yorks Thousand Islands region to look into the murder of a professor from the local college. Soon he encounters a decrepit old seaman with tales to tell, and then a strange link to a place called Castle House, an isolated mansion located out on one of the islands. Once the scene of a daring robbery and a bloody massacre back in the 1930s, the island estate is now owned by a reclusive French-Canadian businessman with a violent dislike for snooping reporters. Undaunted by threats and bullying, Sheridan keeps picking away until he unravels the threads to a story both a half-century old and as contemporary as todays headlines.
