The Shanacee is a novel that shall take the reader through the ages from 15th century Ireland to the present era and the modern cosmopolitan cities of Boston, Washington and Rome. After a short introductory chapter describing events that occurred in 15th century Ireland The Shanacee arrives in turn of the century Belfast Ireland. Whilst in Belfast the story follows the life of a young local lad named Sean O'Sullivan as he embarks on his journey from childhood to adulthood. Cecil Anderson a local police detective enters as he investigates a double homicide that seems to leave Cecil asking more questions than is answered as the investigation concludes. The story progresses by following the descendants of Sean O'Sullivan through the generations arriving at the present era in the city of Boston Massachusetts. At this stage of The Shanacee the reader shall encounter numerous criminal investigations, a terrorist plot and a political conspiracy that could leave mankind teetering on the brink of disaster. Many contemporary ongoing political situations such as the rise of China, the nuclear ambitions of Iran and North Korea and the ongoing war in Afghanistan are touched upon in the text. However The Shanacee is essentially a supernatural thriller that in the end will require some tough decisions to be taken by the most powerful political and religious leaders on earth. The fact that mankind has received the gift of free will ultimately means that he faces the stark reality of making the right decision and choosing between good and evil God and Satan. The choice is mankind's.
