The first person to see her was Harold Skidmore. He was on a joyride out in the country surrounding the small town of Budding. He caught her in the altogether hanging clothes outside her farmhouse. Harold, distracted, crashes his car in the field opposite the house, and doing so ignites a string of events that changes the young woman's life forever. The Sensualist follows the story of Celeste Richland who was raised isolated from the world by an overprotective mother. When fate or circumstance releases her from the solitude of her farmhouse she begins to explore the depths of human nature. She finds friendship, love, jealousy, and pain. Beneath the surface of everyday life there are decisions that we make, actions we take, morals and attitudes that define who we are. It is the authors lot to examine each of these and to pull from them connections that shape his characters lives. He entices you to believe each character is completely real, and more importantly he makes you care about each.
