Nicole lives in Millaa Millaa, in tropical Queensland, Australia. Her pen pal, Jack, lives in the United Kingdom and is very interested in the tropical rain forest that surround Millaa Millaa. Through their letters we learn about the struggle between environmental groups who want to preserve the rain forest and the forest industries that provide employment by cutting down the trees.
