The Princess of Dan is fiction, a novel which merges reality and vision, the present and prophecy. The main character, Sarah Danborne, grew up in the 1960's in an upper middle class home in the United States. During her early adult years, Sarah's life circumstances led her to Israel where she met many other young women who also found themselves relocated and struggling to stabilize their lives and build their homes in the context of a larger vision. Each one has her own story, a variation of a human theme. Another primary character in the story is Danya. She and her friends live and breathe the Redemption. Strengthened by knowing their specific place and purpose, their personal struggles have developed into a common striving to help all of humankind. A mysterious connection between Sarah and Danya is revealed as the novel unfolds; together with the host of friends that each woman brings to the story. The novel is permeated by Kabbalistic and Chassidic teachings that inspire the characters and help define the meaning and purpose of life. The Princess, the archetypal potential in each one of us, opens the doors to redemption. Perceptions of self, relationships and all of reality are rooted in the deepest core of her being. The Princess of Dan grounds the vision as she finds her place in this world, where who she is and what she does affects the collective most positively.
