To keep Peter from leaking the recording and ruining her life, Sidney has to give up a lot of things, including her affair with her devastatingly gorgeous neighbor.

Sidney breaks up with Cade but doesn't tell him about her ex-husband's blackmail scheme. When Cade doesn't buy Sidney's reasons for ending their relationship, she tells him a cruel lie guaranteed to drive him away for good.
