The history of the Natchez Trace is one of bloody feuds, of sudden and violent death, and of the men who made the West. Men such as Aaron Lewis, the young lawyer who fought the powerful, evil syndicates trying to move in and take over the land granted to the settlers by the government in Washington. Then there was Dan Carson, gunfighter and gambler. For these two conflicting characters, personal emotions are magnified many times by danger and violence.
