Three Partido Popular politicos have been murdered in Granada. They are found with Viva La Republica! signs. Are the anarchists back in business in crisis-torn Spain? There is a great clamouring and outcrying from other PP politicians, now the ruling force in Spain. Inspector Jefe José Blanco is under a great deal of pressure to find the assassin(s). He and Sancho undertake some ‘inspired' police work. Tenienta Alma Pérez, now head of the Guardia Civil Homicide team in Granada, is also pulled into the investigation. The only one who seems able to come up with a clue is Jesús, the curandero, but he refuses to share the information. Not yet, anyway. Meanwhile, a fourth PP man, long retired, is shot in Varigo. Now Capitana Carmen is also involved in the investigation. Are all four linked? The answer turns out to be yes and no. In Perú, our intrepid archaeologist Héctor is hoping to help uncover the ‘Big One', but instead uncovers his own past. This volume also offers another look at the Spanish civil war and aftermath.
