The Missing Case — Simon Haynes

The Missing Case is a middle-grade science fiction novel set in the distant future. The protagonist - a boy called Hal Junior - lives aboard a huge space station.

There are many science-fictional concepts in the novel, from robot teachers to starships, but they're introduced in a casual fashion without resorting to paragraphs of technical information.

The Missing Case also focuses on the scarcity of resources in space, and the need for mending, maintaining and recycling.
