The Making of the Minister — Ray Burston

In 'The Making of the Member' we followed the story of two young friends from an unsung 'Black Country' town in the industrial West Midlands as they pursued an arduous thirteen year quest to become its Member of Parliament. By the time Tony Blair and New Labour had completed their epic journey from the political wilderness to Downing Street, both men were also completing the first stage of their own political journeys. Ahead of them there will now lie further years of struggle and disappointment, of danger and intrigue, of triumph and tragedy, as they lay claim to their place at the heart of power within the British political system. It is a struggle that will prove to be the making of the Minister.
