The Lone Star Plague — Kate Birch

The first victim was hospitalized on Friday. By Monday there is no denying it: The sleepy college town of Duane, Texas, is facing an outbreak of bubonic plague, the infamous Black Death. Is it only a coincidence that the vice president is scheduled to visit the town in a week, or is it a case of biological terrorism? Plague specialist Dana Sparks is horrified to discover that this strain of the bacteria resists the known vaccines. She's even more stunned to learn that the FBI believes she is the terrorist responsible.
