The Levee — Ken Bangs

On February 15, 1971 five deputy sheriffs were taken captive by two career criminals and transported to the Trinity River Bottoms near Westmoreland Avenue and The Levee in West Dallas. Their captors killed three, and gravely wounded another while the fifth ran through a hail of bullets to escape the massacre and sound the alarm.
