Zach Crawford is a successful young executive at one of the nation's largest computer consulting firms, Global Computer Solutions, Inc. After receiving an unexpected promotion, he hires a lovely new consultant and quickly finds himself becoming very attracted to her. With a new love in his life, Zach is on top of the world. But things are about to change. Zach is chosen to manage a multi-million dollar computer software project named, The LakeShore Project, and his life begins to crumble around him.

First, Zach discovers that a hacker has been breaking into his company's elaborate computer system, and he enters into a dangerous cat and mouse game in an attempt to catch the thief. Meanwhile, Zach's promotion has gained some unwanted attention from an old acquaintance. This former friend holds the key to a secret that could destroy Zach's career and virtually his entire life.

Suddenly, Zach is fighting blackmail from his former friend, while trying to protect his project and company from the intruders. As he closes in on the hackers, Zach discovers their intricate scheme and the stakes are raised. In a final deadly confrontation, Zach confronts the conspirators and his ugly past in a last ditch effort to save his career, and most importantly, the woman he loves.
