The second book in The Klass series, The Klass - Doyens continues the story of a conspiracy of powerful Southerners (The Klass) bent on taking over the South and seceding from the United States. The Klass must procure a powerful weapon. Two brilliant scientists, loyal to the South, are positioned to steal the advanced technology that will fulfill that need. But, when one of those scientists meets an attorney from Tuscaloosa, Alabama his appearance and relationship with the lawyer jeopardizes the entire scheme. The man-hunt in and around Tuscaloosa for this scientist results in a group of college students becoming involved. Four friends have information that might connect a secret society at the University of Alabama (The Tyros) to the search for the rogue scientist. The Tyros is based on a rumored actual secret society at the university. In the story, The Tyros serves as the training ground for The Klass. Families loyal to The Klass send their children to the university, have them join select fraternities and sororities, and be evaluated for leadership positions within The Klass. The leaders of The Klass are The Doyens, or teacher-leaders. Their role is to advance the cause of The Klass and train its next generation of The Klass. The conspiracy began over ninety years ago, requiring generation after generation of members to keep the secret and prepare for the moment when the vision of The Klass becomes reality.
