An old friend dies, and the Gypsies want answers. Suspecting murder, Annie Szabo is forced to form an alliance with her mother-in-law, fortune-teller Madame Mina, and use all their resources--a talent for petty theft, exotic love magic, a Gypsy shamus, an SFPD cop, and a wicked sense of humor--to try to catch the killer.
