The people who live in the dead house...
It was as if a black cloak had dropped over her. Nadine sat up and leaned against the back of the bed as the image of the wrecked car once again filled her brain. "Oh, no!" she whispered aloud, as she slipped back...and again was laying on the soft wet ground. The fog slithered over and around her. There were dark figures moving about, then she heard Robert scream. He was shouting something...her name? Was he calling to her, to have her join him in that place of terror? Suddenly she could hear him quite clearly. "Why did you do it, Mother?" He shouted the question over and over again. But his mother was dead...many years dead! Was Nadine being calledd to that--to death?
