It's been three years since the band of teen superheroes known as The Healers defeated the Corrupter, an evil phantom nourished by human misery.

Now Koemi, Harata, Eleanor, and their friends face their toughest challenge yet. As they gather the finest minds from around the world for the first Conference of Hope, all is not well: witnesses to the Healers' feats are dying mysteriously, a deadly pollution infects Africa, and a figure from their past delivers an awful warning: It wants to poison all of mankind.

Soon monstrous storms batter the planet, a cabal called the Anti-Healers appears, and an ancient evil threatens to rise anew. Once again The Healers must battle political and demonic forces as well as their own tangled emotions--and prevent the Waters of Life from being corrupted forever.
